Über mich
About me
After 20 years in sports journalism and the media, I decided halfway through my working life to take the step into self-employment. Sport accompanied me from an early age: as an active volleyball player, as a reporter in third-league football or on match visits in ice hockey or football. After my first year as an apprentice at the «Zofinger Tagblatt», I moved to Zurich to work for Sportinformation Si AG, which is now known as KEYSTONE-SDA.
At the agency I learned the journalistic craft from scratch. Basic knowledge of all sports was just as much a duty as careful reporting. During my 20 years as an agency journalist, I specialised in motorcycling, football, handball, ice hockey, figure skating and gymnastics. In addition, I had to plan the journeys for reports myself. I was also responsible for organizing events within the editorial team.
Languages have always been easy for me. translations of foreign-language agency reports were always part of the job. I have a very good knowledge of French and a good knowledge of English and in 2004 I obtained the Spanish diploma «Nivel Intermedio».
In addition to my company, I am the secretary of sportpress.ch, the Association of Swiss Sports Journalists. In this function, I am responsible for the entire administration of the association. I am also a board member of Sportpress AG/SO.
